ANZAC Cove 1915 Today

The ANZACS were on the Gallipoli Peninsula for only 8 months. There is no town called "Gallipoli". It is the name of an area. ANZAC Day is celebrated in countries such as New Zealand, France, England as well as Australia. The evacuation from Gallipoli of the ANZACs was on 20 December By then, 8,141 had been killed or died of wounds and more than 18,000 had been wounded. The ANZACs were all volunteers. April 25, ANZAC Day, was the day the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps landed on the Gallipoli Peninsula in 1915.
