Rhyme of Tides The moon shines on most nights, while it sits up in the sky. But even when it’s shining bright it’s pulling the seas to its side “Water come, come to me, for I try to tug you free.” This tale is what we call tides, For the water rises through the night. This poem talks about the way that tides happen. The moon and sun’s gravitational pull make the water of the earth go back and forth, causing tides.

ABC’s of Moon Phases A first quarter moon is here But a waxing crescent will soon appear Clear will the sky be when a new moon can be seen Don’t have fear a waning crescent will come Even when the day is quite a sight Full moon comes, big and bright. Gibbous is here, the waning kind Here comes the sun and it tries to hide Illuminating only half Just a third quarter, no need to laugh Keeps on turning Lounging in the sky Most of the moon is gone Now we are finally done If you pay attention to the words in this poem it’s talking about the phases of the moon.

Day And Night Couplet The earth twirls on its side As the moon swirls in the sky. When sunlight hits a hemisphere. Day is there, but night is here. This poem is explaining that the earth twirls on its axis while the moon is turning around us, but whenever it’s day on another hemisphere, it’s night here.

Haiku of Seasons The earth revolving Causing four seasons here Summer Winter Spring All caused by the tilt of the earth Fall’s not far behind Since, the earth is always rotating and revolving around the sun on its axis this causes the four seasons.

Blank Night and Day The Earth rotates on its axis A never ending rotation On a 24 hour schedule, forcing day and night. When the face of the Earth exchange the turn for sunlight. Like we said before this causes day and night This type of poem is a blank verse, and it explains and describes the way that earth rotates and makes it day and night all over the place.

Acrostic: Seasons Seeing snow always brightens my day Even though I never knew how it got that way All along I thought it was magic although it is the, Spinning of earth on it’s imaginary axis On top of the fact that it revolves around the sun. Now I know how seasons are done. Summer, spring, winter, autumn.

Terza Rima When the Sun, moon, and Earth are a lined, The most amount of gravitational pull With a difference big and large, a Spring Tide just emerged. This talks about how a spring tide is the biggest between a high and low tide.

Moon Phase Rhyme The phases of the moon are great, In fact there are only eight. They appear in the sky at night, From the suns illuminating light. Waxing crescent, waning crescent same for gibbous too, First, Third quarter full and new moon.

Moon Phase Haiku First and third quarter, There is a full and new moon. Waxing and waning And a crescent and gibbous That’s the eight phases
