Think about the following sentences Zaman eats rice. Rice is eaten by Zaman. He can do the work. The work can be done by him. What are those?

Kinds of Voice. 1.Active 2.Passive 1. Rice is eaten by me. 2. I eat rice. Which is active voice? Number 1 or Number 2?

Some basic Rules: * The places of subject and object in sentence are inter-changed in passive voice. * 3 rd form of verb (past participle) will be used only in passive voice * Auxiliary verb for each tense are given below in the table.

Change the voice If the principle verb is present form:- Structure: Object + am/is/are + verb 3 rd + by + subject. Active- They help the poor. Passive- The poor is helped by them. Active- He sells some mangoes. Passive- Some mangoes are sold by him.

Change the voice. If the principle verb is past form:- Structure: Object + was/were + verb 3 rd + by + subject Active- She made a plan. Passive-A plan was made by her. Active- You showed us a picture. Passive- we were showeda picture by you

Individual work. Time: 4 minutes. 1. She writes a poem (passive). 2. You made a plan (passive). 3. Munna drinks water (passive). Change the voice as directed. Ans: 1. A poem is written by her. 2. A plan was made by you. 3. Water is drunk by Munna.

If the ‘subject’ is absent.(without subject) Structure: Let + object + be + verb 3 rd. Active: Write a story. Passive: Let a story be written Active: Buy me a pen. Passive:Let a pen be bought forme
