SECTION 2 LIST OF EMPLOYMENT DURING THE LAST 12 MONTHS Households Survey FOR MEMBERS OF THE HOUSEHOLD THAT ARE MORE THAN {X} YEARS OLD. EACH PERSON RESPONDS FOR HIM/HERSELF. Households Survey - Section 22 Applies to all salaried work registered in section 2

OBJECTIVES This section is designed to exhaustively register the list of jobs that persons older than {X} years have had in the last 12 months, be them their current job or not. Any activity that has been performed to procure monetary or in-kind income must be registered, including activities of assistance to other members of the household that have this aim. 3 SECTION 2: LIST OF EMPLOYMENT DURING THE LAST 12 MONTHS Households Survey - Section 2

PERSONS TO BE SURVEYED In this section you must interview each person that meets the age criteria. If the person is not available and it is absolutely impossible to interview them, you can ask another qualified person from the household to answer on their behalf. 4Households Survey - Section 2 SECTION 2: LIST OF EMPLOYMENT DURING THE LAST 12 MONTHS

DEFINITIONS TO CONSIDER Work: The activity performed by people to procure an income, either for themselves or so that another member of the family can receive the income. The income can be monetary or in-kind. The production of goods for household consumption must be considered work. Occupation: An occupation is defined as an activity performed by a person, whether it is with the aim of procuring income or not. 5Households Survey - Section 2 SECTION 2: LIST OF EMPLOYMENT DURING THE LAST 12 MONTHS

6Households Survey - Section 2 SECTION 2: LIST OF EMPLOYMENT DURING THE LAST 12 MONTHS

INSTRUCTIONS FOR FILLING-IN THIS SECTION  This section refers to all the occupations performed by the members of the household during the past twelve months, that is, the period covered between the day immidiately before the interview and the same day and month one year earlier.  For example, if the date of the interview is the 11 th of July 2012, the reference period would be from the 11 th of July 2011 until the 10 th of July Households Survey - Section 2 SECTION 2: LIST OF EMPLOYMENT DURING THE LAST 12 MONTHS

INSTRUCTIONS FOR FILLING-IN THIS SECTION  You must keep in mind that people do not always exactly remember the activities performed some time ago. To help them remember you can list dates of reference, or periods during the year, like Christmas, holidays, harvest season for a certain product, rainy seasons, etc...  Many times, people forget to mention activities performed in the field for the production of products that will be consumed by the household, therefore you must inquire, asking always “have you performed any other work.”  They may also forget work performed to assist another member of the household. 8Households Survey - Section 2 SECTION 2: LIST OF EMPLOYMENT DURING THE LAST 12 MONTHS

INSTRUCTIONS FOR FILLING-IN THIS SECTION  As part of agricultural activities also include livestock, fishing and gathering of surrounding produce.  For each person covered by this section, the questionnaire has considered 4 occupations and jobs, if the person has had less than four jobs or occupations, crossout the ones not filled-in.  If the person has had more than the four jobs allowed by the questionnaire, register the four most important according to the criteria of the person interviewed. 9Households Survey - Section 2 SECTION 2: LIST OF EMPLOYMENT DURING THE LAST 12 MONTHS

10 Column A You must copy the Identification Code of the people {x} years or older. Households Survey - Section 2 SECTION 2: LIST OF EMPLOYMENT DURING THE LAST 12 MONTHS

11 Column B For each person, there are 4 available lines to write down up to 4 jobs. As you can see, these lines have a pre-printed number that goes from 1 to 4 Households Survey - Section 2 SECTION 2: LIST OF EMPLOYMENT DURING THE LAST 12 MONTHS

12 For example, if Pedro Pérez is the head of household, and you write down the identification code “01” in the first grouping of 4 lines, then you must write up to 4 of Pedro Perez’s jobs there 01 Households Survey - Section 2 SECTION 2: LIST OF EMPLOYMENT DURING THE LAST 12 MONTHS

13 EXAMPLE 01 YOU: “Please, describe all the occupations you have performed in the past 12 months” PEDRO PEREZ: “Look, right now I’m working with my taxi, but I only started 3 weeks ago.” Taxi driver YOU: “And what other occupations have you performed during the past 12 months?” PEDRO PEREZ: “I used to work on my plot of land growing some vegetables, but I don’t anymore because of health problems.” YOU: “When did you stop working on your plot of land?” PEDRO PEREZ: “7 months ago” Vegetable grower USTED: “Have you performed any other occupation in the last 12 months?” PEDRO PEREZ: “No, that is everything; I have health problems” Households Survey - Section 2 SECTION 2: LIST OF EMPLOYMENT DURING THE LAST 12 MONTHS

14Households Survey - Section 2 SECTION 2: LIST OF EMPLOYMENT DURING THE LAST 12 MONTHS

15Households Survey - Section 2 SECTION 2: LIST OF EMPLOYMENT DURING THE LAST 12 MONTHS

16Households Survey - Section 2 SECTION 2: LIST OF EMPLOYMENT DURING THE LAST 12 MONTHS

17 In this part, we are not interested in knowing the amount of time worked, just if the person performed that job during each month. Households Survey - Section 2 SECTION 2: LIST OF EMPLOYMENT DURING THE LAST 12 MONTHS

18 The answer to this question can be zero, for example because the person no longer performs the job, or is on vacation, sick, pre/post natal leave, etc.... Households Survey - Section 2 SECTION 2: LIST OF EMPLOYMENT DURING THE LAST 12 MONTHS

19 END OF SECTION 2 Households Survey - Section 2
