Facts About His Life Carl von Linde invented the refrigerator. His full name is Carl Paul Gottfried von Linde He was born on June 11, 1842 He was born in Berndorf, Bavaria (Germany)

Carl’s Early Life Carl Paul Gottfried von linde was born in Germany on June 11, 1842.Carl was the son of minister, he was expected to follow in his father’s footstep’s, but took another direction entirely. In 1861, he started a course in engineering at the Borsig in Berlin and then to the new George Krauss. Krauss bcomotive factory in Munich, where he worked as head of the technical department. Carl married Helene Grimm in September 1866, their marriage lasted 52 years and they had six children.

Carl’s Later Life From around 1910 Carl started transferring responsibility for the company’s operation to his son’s Friedrich and Richard and to his son-in-law Rudolf Wucherer. He continued with supervisory broad and advisory duties until his death.

Carl’s Death Carl’s death was on November, 1934.Carl died when he was 92 years old. In 1870 and 1871 Linde published articles in the Bavarior Industy and Trade Journal describing research findings in the area of refrigeration. Linde’s first refrigeration plants were commercially successful and development be go to take up increasing amount of his time. People still thank him for inventing the refrigerator.
