THE WORLD WATER CHALLENGE Would you accept the Challenge and help us provide water for life? Would you accept the Challenge and help us provide water for life? - Because every drop counts

Worldwaterworks Limited Providing water for life We provide:  Sustainable clean water projects to respond promptly to disasters anywhere in the World  Water Survival Boxes – a first response to provide an instant supply of clean water and items to help people rebuild their lives  Water Wells – longer term projects to restore or to install new wells

Disasters Imagine being left with no home, no safe water to drink, none of your belongings

Disasters Imagine what you would do if your home was hit by a tsunami, an earthquake or flooding

What is the most urgent need?  Food  Clothing  Furniture  Tools  Shelter  Clean Drinking Water

After a disaster or after losing your home  It is possible to live without many things for a short time – say a few days  But you need water every few hours  It must be clean or you may be at risk of serious water borne disease  SO YOU NEED A WATER SURVIVAL BOX AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!  Boxes are packed and ready to deliver quickly by air to people in need

Water Survival Boxes  Each box supports a family of four  First priority: Provision of clean water – provides two litres per person per day for twelve months  Second priority: provides essential survival items: - for feeding and drinking - for feeding and drinking - with survival tools to help provide shelter - with survival tools to help provide shelter - for health and hygiene - for general household use

What’s in the Box?  Filter pack for clean water  The means to cook and to eat  Health and hygiene items  Basic shelter and tools

Within a few days of the earthquake in Haiti, 700 boxes were flown to the Red Cross in Port au Prince and 110 boxes went with the French Search and Rescue -- Pompiers sans Frontières

Here a French Fireman is giving one of the Water Survival Boxes to a mother in Haiti. After the earthquakes, 810 boxes were sent to Haiti, then 400 to Chile, following the powerful earthquake there.

More recently 200 boxes were flown to Guatemala, following the volcanic eruption, tropical storms and mudslides there. Imagine if your classroom looked like this one.

If the emergency lasts for a long time, it might be necessary to have water purifying kits in schools or villages. Here children at Abdu Amis Primary School in Uganda are receiving their Water Box.

Worldwaterworks has also helped fund the restoration of village wells in Sri Lanka after the destruction caused by the civil war there.

Can you meet the World Water Challenge? Your local Rotary Club can try to match your funding and make your efforts help even more people!  Remember one Water Survival Box can give enough clean water for a family of four for a year.  Each penny you raise will give someone like you a cup of clean water!
