Within a few days of the earthquake in Haiti, 700 boxes were flown to the Red Cross in Port au Prince and 110 boxes went with the French Search and Rescue -- Pompiers sans Frontières
Here a French Fireman is giving one of the Water Survival Boxes to a mother in Haiti. After the earthquakes, 810 boxes were sent to Haiti, then 400 to Chile, following the powerful earthquake there.
More recently 200 boxes were flown to Guatemala, following the volcanic eruption, tropical storms and mudslides there. Imagine if your classroom looked like this one.
If the emergency lasts for a long time, it might be necessary to have water purifying kits in schools or villages. Here children at Abdu Amis Primary School in Uganda are receiving their Water Box.
Worldwaterworks has also helped fund the restoration of village wells in Sri Lanka after the destruction caused by the civil war there.
