Notes (Hamnet) History: The label glued to the verso and the pencil notes in the margins indicate that the drawing was intended for reproduction in The quiver, a periodical publication published in both London and N.Y. by Cassell between Sept and at least Nov Illustrations by Fitchew are found in examined issues of the magazine ( ) but the exact date of issue for this illustration remains undetermined. The palace, located on the banks of the Thames, 15 miles south-west of London, was occupied by Wolsey from The Wren addition was completed in Though no date is attached to this drawing, it was probably done in the 1880's or 1890's.
