What is E-commerce?  The use of the internet and the web to carry out business transaction digitally.  It also involves the exchange of value( buying and selling activities) such as money. What is E-business?  Digitally enablement of transactions and processes within a firm, involving information systems under the control of the firm.  It turns into e-commerce when an exchange of value occurs.

What is the 8 unique features of E-commerce? 1. Ubiquity  Available just about every where,at all time 2. Global research  The total number of users or customers an e- commerce business can obtain. 3.Universal Standard  Standard that are shared by all nation around the world 4.Richness  The complexity and content of message 5.Interactivity  Technology that allows for 2-way communication between merchant and consumer 6. Information density  The total amount and quantity of information available to all market participants 7. Personalization/ Customization  Personalization : the targeting of marketing messages to specific individuals by adjusting the message to a person’s name, interest, & past purchases  Customization : changing the delivered product/service based on users preferences/prior behavior 8. Social Technology  User content generation &social networking
