The Nansan met the typhoon on her way from south to Fuzhou. Maybe it was on the west Pacific Ocean. It was fine, for there was no wind and the heat was close.

Because he observed the barometer fell and he knew that there is some dirty weather knocking about. When the hurricane struck the ship with full force, they were all on the bridge.
