 Study 10 job vacancies, underline the skills, attributes, experience and qualifications asked for in the ads.  Create a list of the skills the industry is seeking and then write a list of the skills you have that match.  If you have all the skills, list them clearly on the front page of your CV.  If you don’t have all the skills, find out where you can get them or consider a more junior position to gain entry to your preferred industry in NZ.  At least 80% of job applications are online.  To make the recruitment process more efficient recruitment software technology has been developed.  Many employment agencies, businesses, government departments are using this technology. Online job applications

SnapHire One example many NZ businesses are using is called SnapHire. With SnapHire, the online selection process is weighted with the key words, qualifications, experience and any other specific criteria for that particular job. If you do not tailor your online application, cover letter and CV to include this information SnapHire will delete your application, no one will look at it.
