‘ When the archer shoots for no particular prize, he has all his skills; when he shoots to win a brass buckle, he is already nervous: when he shoots for a gold prize, he goes blind, sees two targets, and is out of his mind. His skill has not changed, but the prize divides him. He cares! He thinks more of winning than of shooting, and the need to win drains him of power.’

'Who treats the therapist?’ Stuart Robertson, MSc BSc Physiotherapy, BEd (Hons) Yoga and Mindfulness teacher. Website therapist-a-therapeutic-journey

So when you were young this how you might have approached a new day at The Therapy Centre But after a five/ten years this is how things may have changed Well by this time a sense of hope is replaced by despair!!!

In order for you to get the most from today you need to know…. What kind of therapist are you? What do you believe in as a Therapist?

“Everyone takes the limits of their own vision for the limits of the world” Schopenhauer

What would be a Mindful therapists perspective? “for there is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.” Shakespeare. Mindfulness…there is no right or wrong. A thought is just a thought.

Everyone's perception is different… Old lady or young lady?Small dot …large dot? “The real voyage of discovery consists, not in seeking new lands, but in seeing with new eyes.” Marcel Proust

Thought / Belief / Perception Continuum How much do you agree/disagree with the following… Its what I do as a therapist that makes the difference to my clinical outcomes. Its how I am as a therapist that makes the difference to my clinical outcomes My beliefs as a therapist influence my outcomes. The beliefs of the clients I work with influence my clinical outcomes. Placebo plays a part in my clinical outcomes. When I am feeling good myself my clinical outcomes seem to be better. I feel drained at the end of a days work Certain clients I know I am not going to get very far with. The state of mind of the client influences their pain and function Its what I do as a therapist that makes the difference to my clinical outcomes. What we are aware of we are in control of, what we are not aware of is in control of us. There a dynamic relationship between ourselves and the people we work with. We pay lots of attention to the person we work with but what about our part in this dynamic relationship?

So what are you aware of?

'The mind is everything…..what you think you become'….Buddha Role play scenarios…..sound familiar?

So what could be happening? Vibrating at the same frequency? Mirror Neurons? lass/sound/Lesson-4/Forced- Vibration

So why am I getting drained of energy?

Why becoming more aware of your bodily sensations is so important.
