GCMS BIG ROCK/30 DAY PLAN  Our focus was improvement of High Expectations  We specifically worked on improving:  B.3- Exemplars of High Quality Work  B.4- Is Engaged in Rigorous Coursework,  B.5- Is asked and Responds to higher order thinking questions.

MONITORING OF 30 DAY PLAN Our school administered another walk through using the ELEOT instrument focusing on B3, B4, and B5 -Teachers volunteered a day and time when it would be good for 2 peers to come into the classroom and rate them on those indicators. -We then used these to get our overall score.

ELEOT RATING FROM FEBRUARY TO MARCH 2014 FOR HIGH EXPECTATIONS FEBRUARY 1.8 MARCH 2.8 We did see growth in this area but feel we need to continue to improve on the use of high quality exemplars with our students.

3.1 The school/district’s curriculum provides equitable and challenging learning experiences that ensure all students have sufficient opportunities to develop learning, thinking, and life skills that lead to success at the next level. Team Score 2.37 Evidence Found Lesson Plans Course Descriptions Student Samples Learning Objectives Examples of Differentiation in the Classroom Explore and MAP score data Team Meeting Minutes

3.1 NEXT STEPS Continue to create universal expectations and implement those expectations in a uniform way school wide. Meet the needs of all learners in every subject area, not just LA and Math through schedule and curriculum changes. Revisit vertical alignment

3.2 CURRICULUM, INSTRUCTION, AND ASSESSMENT ARE MONITORED AND ADJUSTED SYSTEMATICALLY IN RESPONSE TO DATA FROM MULTIPLE ASSESSMENTS OF STUDENT LEARNING AND AN EXAMINATION OF PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE. TEAM RATING: 2.6 EVIDENCE FOUND Analysis of KPREP, Explore, MAPS, and learning check results. Team Meeting Minutes/Discussion of data results Lesson Plans with reflections to show adjustments Common Assessments from a variety of subject areas to demonstrate that assessments are appropriately aligned with standards

NEXT STEPS FOR 3.2 Each department needs to come up with a specific template and schedule for systematic review process of curriculum, instruction, and assessment. This will ensure that it is uniform and occurs on a regular basis. Must have department meeting minutes as evidence. Evidence of teacher self-reflections and modification of lessons based on assessment data.

3.3 TEACHERS ENGAGE STUDENTS IN THEIR LEARNING THROUGH INSTRUCTIONAL STRATEGIES THAT ENSURE ACHIEVEMENT OF LEARNING EXPECTATIONS. TEAM RATING 2.33 Evidence Found Lesson Plans with rubrics Team Meeting Minutes Examples of Student Work with technology ELEOT Walkthrough Data

NEXT STEPS FOR 3.3 Question: How much is enough? Do we need to do it on a daily basis or just once per unit or when it naturally fitting? We want feedback! Talk with each other after doing a walkthrough and give constructive feedback.
