What’s Inside the April Newsletter -BG Quantock and RCSM Butler visit -SPC Keener reenlists -Easter Bunny arrives in Afghanistan -SPC Davis gets promoted to SGT -PFC Atkinson gets promoted to SPC -Soldiers don the 3ID combat patch BG Quantock poses with the Officers of Task Force Dragoon after an evening of tutelage, mentorship, and fellowship. CPT Rebecca Cozad receives a coin for her hard work preparing for BG Quantock and RCSM Butler’s visit. BG Quantock and RCSM Butler Visit TF Dragoon Brigadier General David Quantock, Commandant of the Military Police Corps, and Regimental Command Sergeant Major Butler made a special trip to Afghanistan to visit the Soldiers in the 385 th Military Police Battalion. They traveled to several different locations to see all the great things the Military Police warfighters and support Soldiers were doing. It was a special day for all Soldiers in the Battalion; some were fortunate enough to have the Commandant of the Military Police Corps promote them and reenlist them. The visit ended with a dinner where BG Quantock and RCSM Butler addressed the leaders of Task Force Dragoon.

Brigadier General David Quantock reenlisted SPC Christopher Keener of the HHD, 385 th Military Police Battalion on March 24, SPC Keener works as a Supply Specialist and as an Armorer in the HHD. This truly was a special event and is a credit to all the hard work that SPC Keener does for the unit. SPC Keener reenlisted for 4 years for the needs of the Army. Congratulations SPC Keener! BG Quantock Reenlists SPC Keener The Soldiers of the HHD, 385 th Military Police Battalion, took a little time off to celebrate the Easter holiday. The Soldiers organized several fun filled events for the unit to partake in to build esprit de corps. The Easter Bunny passed out goodies and treats and the Soldiers played Dodgeball to celebrate the Spring season. Soldiers Celebrate Easter Holiday SPC Jessica McCormack receives a special Easter treat from the Easter Bunny, SFC Dewayne Miller.

SPC Davis Gets Promoted to SGT SPC James Davis achieved the rank of Sergeant in the United States Army on April 1, SGT Davis works tirelessly in the S6 Communications Shop as a Radio Retrans Operator. He is a wonderful new addition to the United States Army Non Commissioned Officer Corps. Pictured below is SFC Thornton promoting SGT Davis and several members of the Communications Shop posing for a photo after the main event. Congratulations SGT Davis!

HHD Conducts Combat Patch Ceremony PFC Tyler Atkinson achieved the rank of Specialist in the United States Army on April 1, SPC Atkinson works extremely hard for the S6 Communications Shop as a Signal Information Service Specialist handling any and all communication problems that may occur. SPC Atkinson was promoted by SSG Greene. Congratulations SPC Atkinson! PFC Atkinson Gets Promoted to SPC April 17, 2007 was a great day to be a HHD Viking and a Marne Soldier! The HHD, 385 th MP BN conducted their combat patch ceremony, which was a very momentous occasion for all Soldiers in the Battalion. It signified that the Soldiers in the unit have become a part of a long, proud history as a 3 rd Infantry Division Soldier deployed in combat. The history and significance of the combat patch, the 3 rd Infantry Division, and the war in Afghanistan was read to all Soldiers and leaders. The Soldiers then put the 3 rd Infantry Division patch on their right sleeve proudly displayed underneath the American flag.

HHD Yellow Ribbon Room Is Unveiled The HHD Yellow Ribbon Room, located on the bottom floor of the 385 th Military Police Battalion Headquarters at Fort Stewart, Georgia officially opened on April 18, This is a place that family and friends of deployed Soldiers can come and feel connected to their Soldier. There is a myriad of pictures of the deployed Soldiers, some wonderful American décor, and space to gather. The spouses and family members of the HHD FRG spent countless hours gathering materials, decorating, and making the HHD area a special place. A sincere and special thanks goes out to the FRG members for decorating! Mrs. Dawn Bradley (HHD FRG Leader), Mrs. June Liggett, Mrs. Paula Legate, and several other spouses of deployed Soldiers in the Battalion, cut the ribbon on the Yellow Ribbon Room The HHD Yellow Ribbon Room. A very special welcome goes out to SFC Barbara Brown and her family. SFC Brown arrived in Afghanistan and is the NCOIC of the S1 shop. Welcome newest Viking!!
