OVERVIEW  The City annually receives Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)  The primary purpose of this program is to develop viable communities through the provision of decent housing, suitable living environments and expanding economic opportunities; principally for very low, low, and moderate income persons  As a recipient of these funds, the City is required to produce a Consolidated Plan to outline the goals and activities to be undertaken for a period of 5- years

PLAN DEVELOPMENT  Every 5-years the City is required to complete a Needs Assessment to assist in the development of the City’s Consolidated Plan, which will guide the use of CDBG funds for the next 5-years  In addition, each year the City is required to develop an Annual Action Plan that defines the programs to be implemented in the coming year, which address and support the 5-year Consolidated Plan

NEEDS ASSESSMENT  Survey aimed to provide the City with information on the needs, priorities and visions of residents and stakeholders  Results are used to form the funding priorities and goals for the next 5- years  Needs Assessment – Community Survey collected from February to March 2015  273 received
