Fire and Burn Safety

10 ways not to burn yourself 1. Pots and Pans Turn handles IN. Always use 2 pot holders for pans out of the oven Don’t try to lift or carry something that is heavy

2. Communication Use your words! You must inform others around you of your actions! Use: “Behind You” Coming around, Hot Stuff. Have someone watch your food if you have to leave the stove Let your co-workers know if you spilled oil, water and there is a slick spot

3. Grease Grease has a smoking point After that smoking point, it catches fire Smothering the fire with a lid or baking SODA Never put any water on a grease fire!
