Presentation transcript:

Doncaster Primary Care Trust Community Pharmacy Quality and Outcomes Framework

Community Pharmacy Quality and Outcomes Framework  Offered to all Community Pharmacy contractors  Follows a similar format to the GP QOF  Voluntary

 25 Indicators in total - do not have to aspire to all indicators  Must complete and return a signed aspiration list and agreement form by 12 th March  Each indicator has a point value

 Each point is worth £90 per average pharmacy  Average pharmacy is based on the average number of items dispensed in Doncaster in 2006/7 i.e. 81,000  An advance/aspirational payment will be made based on 50% of the anticipated achievement

 The PCT will undertake QOF review visits to each pharmacy contractor between November 2008 and February 2009 and separate from any contract review visits.  Some indicators will be reviewed at the visit and some require evidence to be submitted one month in advance  Following the review visit there will be a report agreed with the contractor which details achievement and any outstanding actions or evidence required

 Contractors will have until 31st March to submit any final evidence/prove achievement  The achievement results will be shared with the Professional Executive Committee and the Trust Board. The results are therefore likely to be in the public domain  The GP QOF is subject to a random fraud check and the PCT will select at random one pharmacy to be part of that process.  Payment is to be made by BACS

Example of Aspiration Payment Smiths pharmacy aspires to 83 points Items Dispensed 2006/7 105,813 Aspiration payment 83 points x £90 x 105,813 __________ 81,000 = £9,735 50% = £4,867 Payment to be made in March 2007

Example Final QOF Payment Calculation Smiths pharmacy Achieved 91 points (N B greater than aspiration) Items dispensed 108,403 (February 2008 to January 2009) Final payment 91 x £90 x108,403 ________ 81,000 = £10, Less aspirational payment £4,867 paid 3/08 Final payment = £ 6,081.70
