ABOUT ME! Hi my name is Michelle and I currently live in New York City. I have a 7 years old daughter who keeps me busy at all times and who love to pieces. I recently started a new job working with children that are on the Autistic Spectrum. My previous job that I recently left was a group head teacher teaching 2 years old and before that I have worked in a special education class with 3-5 years, and students who are autistic, PDD, ODD and students with behavioral problems. I am so happy that I am back in special ed. because I love the atmosphere. I currently hold my Associates Degree in Early Childhood and my BA in Child Development. I am currently obtaining my Masters in Early Childhood and specializing in Special Education. In my spare time I enjoy cooking, reading, listening to music and spending time with my family.

MY EXPERIENCE I enjoyed my Junior High School years, it was fun, interesting and I looked forward to going to school everyday just because I knew there was going to be something fun ahead. I got along with most of the students and teachers. Even today I am still connected to some of my classmates which is pretty cool. I didn’t really have anyone in Junior High that had an influence in my life, however, in High School my Spanish teacher made an influence in my life because he always use to tell me to aim higher in anything that I do.

DEGREE PROGRAM I am currently obtaining my Masters in Early Childhood and specializing in Special ed. I always enjoyed special ed. so that is why I chose this degree. I know in the future I will be able to take my degree with me in both regular ed. class and special ed. classroom. It is a lot of work but I willing to take the challenge and I am hoping to learn as much as I can within this course and the others.
