Rural Poverty Situation “in a threatened resource base” 68%-70% of agricultural households live below poverty line, about 9% of the nation’s rural poor life expectancy is lowest, at 65 years against national average at 70 years literacy rate is 83% against national average of 94% functional literacy rate of women is 67% 30% do not have access to safe drinking water 80% do not have access to credit from formal financial institution

Northern Mindanao Community Initiatives and Resource Management Project 70 barangays (CADC areas) 200 barangays (non-CADC areas) In 43 municipalities and 1 city In 5 provinces in CARAGA Region and Region X Project Target Areas

Project Target Sectors and 40% should be women Agrarian reform beneficiaries, upland farmers, indigenous peoples, fisher folks “About 58,000 households of vulnerable and disadvantaged sectors in northern and northeastern Mindanao, Philippines” Northern Mindanao Community Initiatives and Resource Management Project

Support Services and Studies OUTPUTS: Government and private advisory research, technical support and market information services provided Delivery of support services on health, nutrition and functional literacy provided to Indigenous Cultural Communities (ICC) and Indigenous Peoples (IPs) facilitated Northern Mindanao Community Initiatives and Resource Management Project
