Mission To provide social protection and promote the rights and welfare of the poor, vulnerable and the disadvantaged individuals, families and communities to contribute to poverty alleviation and empowerment through SWD policies, programs, projects and services implemented with or through Local Government Units (LGUs), Non-Government Organizations (NGOs), People’s Organizations (POs), Government Organizations (GOs)and other members of civil society
Mandate To provide assistance to LGUs, NGOs, other national government agencies (NGAs), POs and other members of civil society in effectively implementing programs, projects and services that will alleviate poverty and empower disadvantaged individuals, families and communities for an improved quality of life as well as implement statutory and specialized programs which are directly lodged with the DSWD and not yet devolved to the local government units

7 To harmonize KC, 4Ps and SEA-K, three of the DSWD’s core social protection projects, at both the program and operational level to generate greater impact on poverty reduction beyond what each project can accomplish on its own. Specifically, it aims to: Maximize resources by (i) reducing duplication of efforts and (ii) enhancing operational efficiency, and; Enhance local skills, knowledge, and collaborative action between stakeholders for sustainability of outcomes.
