Program Update Credentialing Georgia AgriBusiness Council will offer a industry endorsed credential certificate based on meeting the minimum cut-score on FFA CDEs again this year. End of Pathway Assessments- 2 options now NOCTI and Precision Exams

Program Update Industry Certification Industry Certification Manual is on the gaaged.org website. Area Teachers are working on updating Equipment list Program Reviews - POW’s Completed by Sept 1 Self Evaluation and review by Advisory Board prior to Spring Area Teacher Meetings in April I suggest to keep a notebook for explanation and for the future.

FFA Update – Fall 2014 FFA Membership – Rosters open for use on September 1 – Rosters are accessed through the AgCareer Network – AgCN accounts (usernames and logins) available from Region Directors if you don’t have them already – New teacher – your account has been created. – Teacher who moved – your account has been transferred – Dues for are $11 ($4 state & $7 national) – To Affiliate contact the state FFA office by September 1 – Rosters and dues/Affiliation fees are due by October 15 – If you want FFA membership cards for your students, contact the state FFA Office – Student login codes for AgCN are generated through your online chapter roster site.

FFA Update – Fall 2014 Proficiency Award & American Degree Applications  Applications are web-based & available now (no longer in Excel form)  American Degree requirements have increased  All teachers AND students must log in to AgCN to access applications  Online applications are housed through AET site, but you DO NOT have to enroll with AET to access the applications  Webinars for assistance (Sept 18, 22, 30 – start at 4:30 p.m.) Georgia AgEd/FFA Record Books  Record books are at in the Applications linkwww.georgiaffa.org  Skills page has been added – download new 2014 version

FFA Update – Fall 2014 National Convention  Louisville, Kentucky  Online registration is open through (must login to the Ag Career Network to register)  Registration Costs  $50 per person if you’re in the FFA housing block  $65 per person if you’re outside the FFA housing block  $70 per person on-site registration regardless of rooms  Contact the FFA Office about rooms in the Georgia state rooming block at the downtown Marriott  Space is limited, rooms are first come, first served!

FFA Update – Fall 2014 Check all CDE and Award guidelines in the online Award Bulletin at New Award Guideline Revision Cycle  Technical Team committees will meet every 3 rd year to review all guidelines (2015, 2018, 2021, etc…)  Each committee will be made up of 3-4 state staff and 4 teachers per Region (3 H.S. and 1 M.S.)  Any teachers can submit feedback/suggestions in a revision year to the State FFA Office or to their fellow teachers serving on committees  6 Committees – 1)Ag Mechanics, 2)Animal Science, 3)Horticulture, 4)Forestry, 5)Leadership & 6)SAE FFA Day at the Georgia National Fair – Oct 7  Registration for all ID contests and booths is now an online process and must be submitted by Sept 17  Registration for FFA Day program (Middle School and 9 th grade only!) is due to Hope Carter by Sept 18
