SubmissionPaul Jeon, LG May 2011doc.: IEEE xxx-00-0psc Use Case (1) – Proactive Kiosk Slide 2 Service ZoneNotice Zone 1) Kiosk detects relative distance and speed of each person near by. 2) Kiosk interprets the distance and the speed into context of each person. 3) Kiosk provides services or commercial based on such context. Maximum coverage: ~ 5meter Maximum data rate: ~ 40Mbps per service Antenna configuration: Omni RX/TX (mobile) - Directional RX/TX(kiosk) Etc: Fast association, Location & Speed detection

SubmissionPaul Jeon, LG May 2011doc.: IEEE xxx-00-0psc Use Case (2) – Interactive Narration Slide 2 Maximum coverage: ~ 5meter Maximum data rate: ~ 40Mbps per service Antenna configuration: Selection Stage: Directional TX (mobile) - Directional RX (Narration System) Service Stage: Omni RX (mobile) – Omni TX (Narration System) Etc: Fast association 1) Each person can view the point of interest through the mobile device camera. 2) The narration system detect the area of interest and give personalized information if any.

SubmissionPaul Jeon, LG May 2011doc.: IEEE xxx-00-0psc Use Case (3) – Intuitive Social Networking Slide 2 Maximum coverage: ~ 10meter Maximum data rate: ~ 100Mbps per connection Antenna configuration: Directional - Directional Etc: Fast association, Location detection Intimate Social Public 1) A smart phone interprets how “close” they are into how “intimate” they are. 2) And it invokes different social networking application sets based on intimacy measurement results. Or a user can select target based on its location.

SubmissionPaul Jeon, LG May 2011doc.: IEEE xxx-00-0psc Use Case (4) – Multi Screen Services Slide 2 Maximum coverage: ~ 5meter Maximum data rate: ~ 1.5Gbps per connection Antenna configuration: Omni – Omni or Directional - Omni Etc: Fast association, Location detection, High security Chatting & Purchasing Web surfing 1) Device around a person or people can be grouped together and each device share the context of it. 2) Device can use such context gathered and use them to further service development and may share the result with each other.

SubmissionPaul Jeon, LG May 2011doc.: IEEE xxx-00-0psc Use Case (5) – Personal Space Configuration Slide 2 Maximum coverage: ~ 5meter Maximum data rate: ~ 1.5Gbps per connection Antenna configuration: Directional TX – Omni RX Etc: High Spatial Reusability, High security 1) A mobile phone can adjust its wireless behavior upon seating on the seat and enjoy non-interfering communication by well controlled environment. 2) A health care application on the mobile phone can set the parameters of treadmill and gather exercise information from it and update such information on the personal health care service server.

SubmissionPaul Jeon, LG May 2011doc.: IEEE xxx-00-0psc Use Case - Others Slide 3 Etc. Multi hop transmission 1) Coverage should be extended by using multihop transmissions High precision location tracking 1)User’s location should be traced in units of centi-meters
