Addition to the Monroe Doctrine  Prevented European intervention in Latin America  U.S. will act as a policeman of Latin America  U.S. will now intervene in Latin America’s domestic affairs if they felt they needed to maintain stability

Activity: In groups read and annotate the excerpt from Roosevelt’s speech.
