Set up the North-East Regional Laboratory and initiate activities dedicated to regional survey on innovation: – identify partners - January 2010 – organize the first meeting – 18 th February 2010 in Iasi – conclude the statement of Intent (14) – collect and analyze the regional statistics data regarding innovation in North-East – transmit and collect questionnaires for investigate the diffusion of innovation (28) – set up Focus Groups and organize meetings (April 2010 at Iasi, Vaslui, Suceava, Piatra Neamt) – Define pilot actions to be implemented in North-East Region

Description of pilot action / stage / observations AP1. Dissemination of information on NE RDA’s web page, to promote the results of RDI in NE Region, including the project dedicated web page ( The section dedicated to innovation are include the existing support services dedicated to innovation in our region (existing technological information centres, business incubators, technological and industrial parks, business support organisations) are The offer of the results on innovation applied in NE Region will be inserted in the following period Pilot actions NE Region in 2011

AP2. Edit a regional publication (newspaper format) to promote RDI results, which will include best practices examples, financing opportunities, news and a calendar with innovation events. There have been edited 2 editions (2000 copies each) – members of North-East Regional Laboratory contributed with articles and news. NE RDA organized the preparatory activities for printing, editing and distribution of this newspaper; Target groups: universities, research centres, SME’s with research centres, local / national public administration organisations. There will be edited another 4 editions (2000 copies each) till the end of 2011.

AP3. Stimulate, by support actions and exchange of experience, of a proficient management within Technological Information Centres, industrial parks and business incubators. NE RDA initiated, facilitated and coordinated the exchange of experience between Technological Information Centres from NE Region by organizing a round table on 14 th of September 2011 in Iasi (Hotel Traian).

AP4. Develop the strategic management capacity at SMEs level, by identifying/organizing training programs for executive personnel (training modules regarding project management cycle, management of human resources, public tenders, etc.), by North-East Resource Center, in partnership with “A.I.Cuza” University (CSE – The Centre for European Centres). 45 graduates, between May- August 2011, have been trained and certified at RDA Resource Center On 28 th September 2011, it was launched the on-line entrepreneurial training course U-COACH North-East Resource Center will expend the training offer on other specific domains (expert on structural funds, communication, project assessor )

AP5. Stimulate new associative structures – first textile cluster from the region (agree working agenda and annual action plan - sign co-operation agreement and dedicated action plan, participate to specific training on clusters, initiate exchange of experience with similar structures from France, Great Britain, etc.). Organize seminar (21 st of March 2011), at Săvineşti, Neamţ county (headquarter RIFIL SA) – the members of the ASTRICO North-East association received information regarding „Cradle to Cradle” Network – European concept which promote reduction of raw materials generator of waste and pollution and were presented good practices implemented by other industrialized European states (Holland, Germany, Italy, France). Elaborate and submit an application -Strategic Project See - Smarter Cluster Policies for South East Europe (Romanian partners: Institute for Economic Forecast, National Authority for Scientific Research, Ministry for Economy and NE RDA) Participation on consultative meetings organized by Technical Assistance – Ministry for Economy to prepare the Applicant Guide on SOP Competitiveness (Clusters)

AP6. Facilitate meetings between academic environment and SMEs sector, on specific fields of activity, including identification of financing sources which support innovation. On 2 nd of March 2011, NE RDA, in partnership with Scientific and Technological Park “Tehnopolis” Iasi and Territorial Office for SMEs Iasi, had organized (Tehnopolis premises) the seminar “Innovation to example” which included and two simultaneous workshops, with proposals of good practices C2C in industry (furniture, printing, waste recycling), construction and good gouvernance, in order to collect proposals and initiatives to encourage environment protection, multiply C2C good practices at regional level and summarise the good practices examples. Organize, in partnership with National Institute for Inventions from Iasi, of the event INVENTICA 2011 (8-9 June 2011), which included an exhibition salon, thematic seminars, 5 workshops for case study and 1 transnational event „Innovation – results and practice for a sustainable development”.

AP7. Encourage local public authorities to develop innovative projects. Organize a working meeting with public authorities from North-East Region on 26 th of July in Suceava – main topic: development priorities Encourage local public authorities to adopt development strategies oriented to innovative solutions (based on RDS results within our region) and sustainable (energy efficiency, renewal energies, non-invasive construction materials, etc).
