Interaction between Melbourne’s Water Future, the Metro Framework and the Regional and Local WoWCM Plans Melbourne’s Water Future Outlines key policy principles, commitments and actions, sets strategic objectives, provides aspirational goals Metro Framework Provides guidance and tools to support the development of Regional and Local Plans Outlines key outcomes and indicators to drive performance of Melbourne’s water cycle Local Plans (based on LGAs) Determines how WoWCM can be implemented at a local scale Consistent with Metro Framework, Regional Plans and Local WoWCM Guidelines Sets local KPIs which contribute to achieving metro-wide benefits Contains outline of local infrastructure, assets, potential projects Led by Local Government with broad stakeholder and community engagement, coordinated by OLV Regional Plans (5 regions) Determines how WoWCM can be implemented at a regional scale Consistent with Metro Framework, Regional WoWCM Guidelines and has regard to Local Plans Sets regional outcomes/KPIs which contribute to achieving metro-wide benefits Plans may cross Plan Melbourne regional boundaries (as catchments require) Contains outline of regional infrastructure, assets, potential projects Owned by project partners with broad stakeholder engagement, coordinated by OLV Regional Plans have regard to Local Plans Local Plans must be consistent with Regional Plans WoWCM – whole-of-water-cycle management (Example LGA)
