Global Classrooms “Global Classrooms are courses that engage Drexel students with students at one of our partner universities abroad through a range of interactive technologies. Faculty members from any discipline incorporate a global dimension into their scheduled class and link it to a class of students at an international partner institution.”

Global classrooms Began in courses university- wide 30 faculty participants Over 1500 students worldwide College of Engineering: – BMES, Senior Design with University of Qatar – Intro to Biomedical Engineering with Universidad Politecnico de Madrid – Sustainable Water Resource Management with IUAV in Venice, Italy

Intensive Courses Abroad (ICA’s) “Intensive Courses Abroad (ICAs) offer the opportunity to have an international academic experience in a short period of time (generally days during break weeks). ICAs are normally led by a Drexel faculty director, in conjunction with an on campus course before and/or after the tour. They include activities such as guest lectures, industry visits, and other hands on events that transform the city into a living laboratory.”

MEM and CHEME University of Ruhr Bochum, Germany – MEM and CHEME students – Began as summer term option, now spring term option – Driven by Drexel faculty research interest and his Humbolt fellowship – All students take the following 2 courses taught by Drexel faculty 1 German Language course 1 research course 1 course taught by German faculty – Year 1 ( summer 2011), DU facultuy in Germany for 10 weeks… spring 2016, DU Faculty in Germany 10 days, teaching rest of term remotely – Every year Ruhr students come to Drexel as part of tuition waiver
