I. Accessing your webpage Go to or google “orange public schools” On the upper left-hand corner, select Rosa Parks Central Community School Select the Faculty tab Select your name

II. Creating a TinyURL What is a TinyURL? ◦ A free web service that shortens a long URL into a tiny URL
II. How to create a TinyURL Copy the long URL of your Schoolwires webpage (right-click on your mouse, select copy)
II. How to create a TinyURL Go to www. tinyurl.com or google “tinyurl”www. tinyurl.com Paste your long URL into the textbox where it is written: “Enter a long URL to make tiny:” (right-click on your mouse, select paste)
II. How to create a TinyURL Decide on a custom alias for your tiny URL Suggestions: ◦ First Initial, Last Name e.g. acoban ◦ Last Name, First Initial e.g. cobana ◦ Last Name, Classroom Number e.g. coban311
Objective II: Complete! Then, select “Make TinyURL!” And that’s it! Your new tiny URL will be tinyurl.com/custom alias To get to your Schoolwires webpage, you (and more importantly, your students) can simply enter your tiny URL! (instead of entering the district’s webpage, selecting our school name, selecting the Faculty tab, and then selecting your name)
Quick Tip: Create a sign! Create a simple classroom sign written with your tiny URL For example, on the file cabinet in my classroom, I used a sentence strip to display my tiny URL for visitors and for my students
III. Creating your About Me page You must enter Site Manager to edit content on your Schoolwires webpage Go to your tiny URL Select Sign In at the top
III. Creating your About Me page Enter your User Name and Password Your User Name is your handle e.g. cobanand If you forgot your Password, select Forgot My Password and follow the prompts to reset your password
III. Creating your About Me page Once you are signed in, the Site Manager button will appear at the top Go to Site Manager, and now you can create and edit content on your Schoolwires webpage

III. Creating your About Me page If you would like to create an About Me page, select New Page

III. Creating your About Me page Enter a Page Name e.g. “About Me” and then select Save

Objective III: Complete! On your Schoolwires webpage, an About Me page will have appeared
Quick Tip: Create more pages! The process of creating an About Me page is very similar to creating other kinds of pages Experimentation is the best way to learn about the features of Schoolwires! You can always edit pages, delete pages, or make them inactive
IV. Creating your Homework page Option 1 ◦ In Site Manager, select New Page, select Flex Editor, and then enter a page name e.g. “Homework” ◦ A Homework page will have appeared in your Site Manager, which can now be edited
