Using source and your own knowledge. Occurs:Paper 1: Section B Value: 6 marks Wording: ‘Why was the poster published …? Use the Source and your own knowledge to answer the question.’ Marks Scheme: Level 1: simple description/reasons for poster (1-2 marks) Level 2: Either: explanation of context of poster using knowledge; Or: explanation of appeal or nature of the propaganda; (3-4 marks) Level 3: Both parts of Level 2. (5-6 marks)
