The Role of the Councillor
The Advocate Role Speaking up for and on behalf of individuals and groups Encouraging residents to engage and participate Participating in plan making and decisions at an area and neighbourhood level Communicating residents concerns to the Council and partners
Community Leader Role Encouraging people to take up opportunities to express their views Represent local concerns and views Encourage the community to organise themselves Work with other community leaders in the voluntary, community and business sectors
Community Leader Role Offering vision and direction to local groups Brokering agreements between different interests and partners Contributing as an effective partner in neighbourhood arrangements
