2 PharmCo Ltd. is an Irish pharmaceutical company. Management are considering Systems Analysis and Design with a view to computerising the employee payroll system. Currently, employees submit a weekly timesheet, they in return are issued their weekly wages in the form of a cheque.Additionally, employees are annually issued with a tax form to complete. Finally, every week a payroll report is compiled and forwarded to the Accounting Department.

5 A college processes applications for its postgraduate courses from home graduates and graduates from other institutions. The admissions section records the date of receipt of all applications in the applications book. Home graduates are accepted if they meet the entry requirements (also checked against lists of previous examination results by the records section). Other outside graduates are rejected if they don’t meet the entry requirements, and even if they do, a reference is sought. If the reference is satisfactory, the graduate is accepted. All applicants receive a letter from the college advising them if they’ve been accepted or rejected, and the date that this is sent is recorded in the applications book.
