 It started with its work in 1970 as a division of Faculty of Economics of University of Sarajevo.  Since 1975 it has started to function independently  The programme of study of Business Economy exists from the very beginning of the Faculty’s work About Faculty – Hictorical Context 2

 The programme of graduate study of Business Economy has passed through many modifications so the Syllabus no. 5 is applied nowadays.  Syllabus no.5 of study of Business Economy rests on the principles of Bologna Declaration and is performed through undergraduate and graduate studies according to principle 4+1.  During the first four semesters the students mostly study the common courses that represent basic economics courses and that serve as the foundation for further study of compulsory and optional subjects within certain specific fields. 4 The first cycle lasts 4 years (240 ECTS).

 At the 5 th semester the students choose one of the given fields:  Marketing,  Business Informatics,  Accounting and Finance,  Management 5

 From the 5 th semester up to the end of the first cycle students attend one common and four courses (of lectures) from chosen field (courses of field are consisted of obliged and optional courses from every field).  During the semester students have to choose one course from other fields.

 The number of students who enrol at the first year of the University undergraduate study is confirmed in consultation with authorised ministry.  One hundred students are enrolled with the support of the Ministry of Science, Culture and Sport, while the number of those who participate in the study expenses is determined for each school year.

 Final paper is a scientific paper in which student, under guidance of mentor, researches the chosen topic and with which, upon the completion of all his/her undergraduate study curriculum requirements, proves capability of solving complex problem independently.  Recommended length of the final paper, excluding appendices, is pages. Final paper of the 1 st cycle 10

 The second cycle lasts one school year and teaching is conducted through two semesters and students can earlier choose from the above-mentioned offered courses.  The second cycle is worth 60 ECTS points. During the cycle, along with other obligations, students are obliged to make projects as well as to make a critical overview. The second cycle 11

 Writing of the thesis represents final part of the second cycle and it amounts 28 ECTS.  Upon completion of these two cycles students can obtain 300 ECTS points and acquire academic title of Master of Economy 12

 Upon completion of the 2 nd cycle students acquire basic competencies, with which they are capable to comprehensively recognise, understand and analyse the problems from economic theory and practice, and thus find acceptable solutions. 13

 At the beginning of the academic year / semester, teachers are required to inform students on the first lecture about the program and methodology, literature, the manner in which classes will be run and how testing and evaluation process will be organized Criterion 4: Students 14

 The final grade is a score that students gathered during the teaching process. It’s made of the points that are obtained from tests and exams, term papers, participation in debates and etc.  The success of students in examinations and other tests of knowledge (colloquia) is expressed by the following marks: excellent (5), very good (4), good (3), sufficient (2), insufficient (1). 15

 Practical training is realized, depending on the facts what is the nature of each subject and whether the same require practical classes.  Mainly practical work is conducted through visiting lecturers from the business community and prominent representatives of economic science and trough the field work (as well as visits to leading companies and economic institutions such as central banks, chambers of commerce, etc.).
