About Chemistry in the Community Developed by the American Chemical Society Aims to connect YOUR LIFE and CHEMISTRY. Each unit is set up around a social issue. You’ll be a science stud after this class.

Goals of School Science Educate students who are able to: Experience the richness and excitement of knowing about and understanding the natural world. In other words, it’s nice to understand what you see. Use appropriate scientific processes and principles in making personal decisions. In other words, using science knowledge can help you make good decisions. Engage intelligently in public discourse and debate about matters of scientific and technological concern. In other words, you can participate in conversations and not look dumb. Increase their economic productivity through the use of the knowledge, understanding, and skills of the scientifically literate person in their careers. In other words, if you know science you can earn more money.

And another (3).Going to school pays.

The more you know, the more you understand. The more you understand, the more you learn. The more you learn, the more you know. …leading to more understanding, leading to more learning, leading to more knowing, leading to even more understanding, leading to even more learning, and so on…

por ejemplo:

“Educate and inform the whole mass of the people... They are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty.” President Thomas Jefferson

“I know of no safe depository of the ultimate powers of the society but the people themselves; and if we think them not enlightened enough to exercise their control with a wholesome discretion, the remedy is not to take it from them but to inform their discretion.” President Thomas Jefferson
