Sarah’s and Your Top Tips!! Advertise your meetings by to as many people as possible – at least twice, including the day before. OMS Do posters to send out to company / academic contacts. EMMS Have a website – IOM3 Microsites are free. LOTS OF YOU Produce a hard copy of your programme. SPRA

Top Tips II Contact both members and non-members – as many as possible. SPRA Make your calling notices interesting and informative. SMEA, OMS Plan your programme to suit your local members: Different days of the week; SPRA Different times – student lectures EMMS

Top Tips III Committee members wear name badges for ease of identification. EMMS Put up a ppt slide at the beginning of the lecture highlighting forthcoming events. CIE Buy a tabletop display plus leaflet dispensers to use at events. CIE Commission a society lapel badge and sell / present as required. CIE / SPRA

Top Tips IV Display IOM3 Membership leaflets at every meeting – and tell those present that they are there! LISI Make sure someone is responsible for welcoming those attending, especially those attending for the first time – make sure they come back!! SPRA Consider producing a welcome leaflet

Top Tips V Provide refreshments – encourage those attending from work and students Report back on the event in your newsletter to demonstrate value. SPRA Encourage non-members to join – make sure you have membership leaflets to hand – increase your grant!! Make sure you claim as much grant as possible by planning your events!!
