Welcome Recruiters ! As a recruiter our job is to perform “the act of attracting, engaging, assessing, and onboarding talent for work”(para 1). We review and screen many applications and candidates from all over. What qualifications do recruiters look for? Education Experience Company Fit Credibility How do we distinguish which applicant best fits the position?

Student Learning Choices Face-to-Face Classroom- Open to all students to interact and engage in a type of classroom setting Online Classroom- Learning solely on the internet Hybrid Learning Environment- Combination of online and face-to-face learning Web Facilitated Learning- Using technology to create a virtual face-to face learning environment

Different Learning Environments

What is the problem? The problem that we are facing in higher education are the negative perceptions that exist within society about on online learning. Who is expressing these concerns? What are the main issues? Why is this a major issue? How can we resolve this issue?

Research Found Positives: Hayine (2014) states, “of those managers participating in the study, half indicated that online and traditional programs have ‘equal value’ when they are considering applicants’ educational backgrounds”(para 4) More accepting/open to online learning A degree does not define a candidate skills and qualifications Negatives: Online degrees carry less weight Questions about the return on investment Quality of learning Interaction Unfamiliar with distance learning

They both had great references and were both considered for the position. Based on the criteria listed on the next slide which student would you choose for the position and why?
