Teen Pregnancy and Birth Trends in King County, Washington Eva Wong Assessment, Policy Development & Evaluation Unit, Public Health-Seattle & King County September 2, 2010

1,695 pregnancies, 874 births in pregnancies, 366 births in pregnancies, 8 births in 2008 among teens <15

Conclusions: Teen Ages Trends King County meeting Healthy People 2010 objectives, but live birth trends through 2008: King County American Indian/AN Asian/PI African American White Hispanics

Conclusions  Increasing teen birth rates in South Region  Race/Ethnic disparities: 4-12 times higher than white non-Hispanics  Geographic disparities: 18 times greater comparing South King County vs. lowest rate area  Economic-linked changes?
