Unit 1 Composite Number 12 = 3 * 4 12: 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 12 Definition: A number with more than two factors.

Unit 1 Distributive Property Model: 3(1 + 2) = 3(3) or 3(1) + 3(2) = Definition: Multiplying a number by the sum of a group of numbers is equal to multiplying them each by the individual numbers and then adding.

Unit 1 Factors Model: 3 * 8 = 24 3 and 8 are factors of 24. Definition: Numbers that divide evenly into the given number.
