The Cambrian School District is known for its creativity and innovation on educating the whole child. A rigorous curriculum and application of 21 st century skills will create students that can adapt to their changing world. Cambrian School District provides additional educational services for our at risk and special education population to ensure that all students receive the academic and emotional support needed to be in attendance and successful.

 320 Special Education Students  180 SDC Students  27 RSP Students  113 Speech Only  6 Elementary SDC Classes (2 at Bagby, 2 at Farnham and 2 at Sartorette)  4 Middle School RSP/SDC combined classes  Three Major Disabilities: Speech Language Impaired (113) Specific Learning Disability (99) Autistic (37)  Student Learning Measured By: IEP goals, CMA, and CST

 Total Number of Special Education Students 519  239 SDC Students  155 RSP Students  125 Speech Only  14 SDC Classes (11 mild-mod and 3 mod-severe)  7 RSP Classes  Three Major Disabilities: Specific Learning Disability (145) Speech Language Impaired (125) Autistic (86)  Student Learning Measured By: IEP Goals, and Formative Assessments.

“Provide high quality professional development to teachers and principals in alignment with implementation of Common Core State Standards.” (Target A7) 1) SCCOE Inclusion Collaborative (Price teachers completed a three tier training module focused on supporting special needs students in the general education classroom 2) Special Education Professional Development calendar this year tied to a survey of all Special Education Teachers. Teachers given collaboration time to work through case scenarios put forth by Student Services Department 3) Diagnostic Center of Northern California (all Special Education teachers trained in handling severe behaviors in the classroom) 4) SCCOE Compliance Training (all SPED teachers trained on legal issues with IEP requirements and documentation)

“Expand integration of 21 st Century Learning and Innovation Skills.” (Target B1) 1) SPED Teacher IPAD Academy 2) I PAD lessons available for all SDC Students 3) Apple TV lesson delivery in SDC Pre-School

 Provide high quality professional development to general education teachers focused on supporting special needs students in their classrooms.  Investigate the implementation of common benchmark assessments customized for special needs students.  Provide ongoing site opportunities for collaboration between general and special education teachers.  Continue specific training options for Special Education Teachers tied directly to teacher feedback.
