Why do we need goals? Your goals help you make the right decisions about what to do. They help you focus and concentrate your efforts, energies, and opportunities so that you maximize your output. They also help you recognize new opportunities that come your way. In fact, they help you achieve your dreams!

Where do we find our goals? By thinking through what you value in your life. What do you think are important in your life? Why do you want to spend more time and effort on some areas of your life and not on others?

How do we translate our values into goals? Visualize where you want to end up? What would it look like? What is your future state or end state? What will you want to achieve or accomplish in your life time, five years, or twenty years...

What is a goal? A goal is something you achieve or accomplish. It’s something you work toward over a period of time. You achieve your goals by doing a series of activities.

What are action steps? Action steps are the activities you will do to accomplish your goals.

Why do we write down our goals? It helps to capture our dreams. Helps clarify our visions. This way the goals will stay with you forever (make them conscious). Also helps us see the picture of whole self and helps prioritize our goals.

What happens if my life or plans change after completing the learning plan? Goals are not written in stone, but in sand (free to reshape and rebuild). As our interests, experiences, or situations may change over time, our goals should reflect our current desires about our future state. If our lives or personal situations change, then we should revise our goals to reflect the change.
