Discussion: §What do you think of Marx’s advice on how to learn a foreign language? §How do you usually learn English? And why do you want to learn English?

When it comes to language learning, you are the boss. You may say, “Isn’t it the teacher’s job to teach me what to learn?” Actually effective( 有效 ) learners do not rely on( 依靠 ) teachers to spoon-feed( 填鸭 ) them. They are go-getters. They look for chances to use their new language and to learn new vocabulary. They know that language proficiency( 娴熟 ) won’t just drop out of the sky,and that learning comes by doing. In short, they are active learners. In fact, think of ways to use English in your everyday life. That is, put yourself in situations where you will be forced to communicate( 交际 ) in English, and you will see more progress over time. You need large help of English input to feed your language development. When you use the language, it will become your own. My suggestion

At home after school!  Do exercise 3 in Workbooks  Tell Marx’s experience in learning foreign languages  Write a short summary of the passage
