The characters are Old yeller mama papa Travis. Little Arliss.

The setting is At home. In the woods.

First papa went some place far and left Travis to be the man of the house. Travis thought he did good for his first day. The next day he went hunting. He found a white tailed deer. He shot it but it did not kill it. Then the mom came and she was mad. Then the baby died and he got the meat. the mom chased him but couldn’t get him. Then he put it out side to cool. But a dog stole the meat. But they kept that dog. But Travis did not want to keep him. But soon he helped them hunt well. Soon he liked old yeller to. Later they went out in the woods. To mark wild hogs. The first time they did awesome the next time they didn’t. Instead they did horrible. Also both of them were hurt badly. But old yeller was hurt worst. Travis ran to get mom to help. even though he was hurt. But mom said no but he didn’t care. Then she finally helped the got home and Travis and old yeller rested. Soon lisbeth came and helped. Then there best cow got a weird sickness. So the had to get a fire up so the sickness wouldn’t spread. Then when lisbeth and mom went get the wood. After they had the wood a wolf was chasing them. With the same bad sickness as the cow they had. Old yeller went in to kill it and got bit. Then Travis killed the wolf. But he had to kill old yeller to. After old yeller saved them a lot. Like when he pulled little arliss out of the water.

 I recommend reading this. I liked it because of how sad it was.
