WEDDINGTON ELEMENTARY VISION AND MISSION Student safety is the first priority of the Weddington Elementary staff. Teachers focus on small group and one on one, differentiated instruction to ensure students master 21 st Century concepts. We follow the Common Core and Essential Standards. Teachers focus on positive reinforcement and feedback and encourage all students to try their best.

MORNING ARRIVAL Student arrival in the morning is 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 a.m. Students may not enter the building prior to 7:00 a.m. Students are encouraged to ride the bus. The bus typically arrives to the school between 7:00 – 7:10 a.m. Students arriving in the car must exit independently on the sidewalk. Teacher Assistants are stationed on the sidewalk to assist. All students have the opportunity to eat breakfast in the school cafeteria. Students are considered “Tardy” if they are not in the classroom when the bell rings at 7:30 a.m.

AFTERNOON DISMISSAL Kindergarten students dismiss at 1:58, prior to other students. Teacher Assistants take car riders to the hallway Teachers take bus riders Kindergarten bus riders sit in the first 2-3 seats of the bus Parents should be at the bus stop at least 10 minutes prior to the drop off time Transportation changes must be in writing

CAFETERIA Breakfast is served daily from 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 a.m. Breakfast cannot be charged. All students have a cafeteria account that parents are able to monitor. Cafeteria accounts can be verified and accessed by going to All students have a cafeteria number to verify his/her account. Parents/families/friends may have lunch with students following the first grading period.
