Presentation transcript:

From an economic point of view, used plastic can be considered as both a vital source of valuable chemicals, mainly hydrocarbons, and an energy source. The calorific value of most plastics is similar to that of fuel oils and higher than that of coals. And also, it has the following benefits:  Saves raw materials  Reduce landfills and fires  Reduce impact on climate changes  Creates jobs  Helps us towards sustainable living

Plastic recycling reduces the need of raw materials by providing a feedstock for making new products and substitutes recycled material for an equivalent amount of virgin plastic, thus reducing our impact on the environment. Recycling a ton of plastic saves the equivalent of 3.8 barrels of oil.

Because of their resistance to degradation, plastic materials exist for a long time when disposed of in landfills. Moreover, the slow degradation of plastics is responsible for the progressive reduction of landfill capacity. The risk of accidental fires with highly polluting emissions is increased in landfills containing large amounts of plastics. Plastic wastes account for about 25% of all solid wastes accumulated in landfills. Upon recycling, you can reduce this rate and the accidental fires.

Plastics give off a lot of harmful chemicals that can harm the environment to a large extent. Recycling plastic saves five times the energy created by burning or decomposing it thus reducing the negative impact on the environment

Incineration and landfill benefits no one instead causes serious problems, whereas the process of recycling and composting, from collection to the sorting and reprocessing of recyclables creates a lot of jobs. Studies have estimated that for every ton recycled 5.9 jobs are created.

For homeowners, plastic recycling is one of the easiest ways to reduce their impact on the environment and introduces a “GREEN” consciousness to daily life. Also, it creates a cyclic way of living rather than the current linear model, and will help us develop sustainably.

If you have unused plastic, dump it in recycling company such as Eurokey Recycling where it is recycled using specialized strategies. For more information, contact Or, Click
