Brand Names: think of a brand name for your cereal Cheerios Captain Crunch Lucky Charms Life Cereal Trix Raisin Bran Shredded Wheat Cereal Corn Pops Frosted Flakes Cocoa Krispies Rice Krispies Fruity Pebbles Fruit Loops Wheaties

Slogans: think of a slogan for your cereal Applejacks Cereal A is for apple, J is for Jacks. Cinnamon toasty Applejacks! Coca Puffs Cereal “I'm coo-coo for Cocoa Puffs!” Corn Pops Gotta have my pops! Count Chocula “I vant to eat your cereal!” Frosted Flakes Show'em you're a tiger, Show'em what you can do, the taste of Tony's Frosted Flakes, brings out the tiger in you, in you! Bandwagon: Tries to persuade everyone to join in and do the same thing Print Ad: create a print ad for your cereal; a print ad is like one that would appear in a magazine

Testimonial: A person gives his/her endorsement of a product

Loaded Terms: words are used to evoke positive or negative feelings

Plain Folks: appeals to everyday routines and ordinary people

Name-calling: Negative words are used to create an unfavorable opinion of the competition in the viewer's mind.

Your Project Create your own brand of cereal, a brand name, and a slogan Use your assigned propaganda technique and create a print advertisement (like one that would be found in a magazine) Don’t copy! Be original! Make it as official and professional-looking as possible (use typing paper and color) Assignment is due Friday by the end of class!
