Serco in Confidence Background information  Leisure Connection managed this facility until 2009 directly for Sport England with Nottinghamshire County Council as landlord, NCC then managed the site until March  Sport England (revenue) grant expired in March 2013 – 500k but they remain committed to site through other funding sources  Facility was built in 1960’s and white water course was added in  Key stakeholders - British Canoe Union, British Rowing, RYA and local Universities  English Institute of Sport based on site  England Triathlon & British cycling are very keen on developing the use of NWSC  Home to many local canoe clubs, rowing clubs and running clubs  Home to International and national events such as the National Rowing Championships

Serco in Confidence NCC Procurement Objectives The procurement objectives for the National Water Sports Centre was to provide: “An accessible, high quality family activity and sporting centre with an adventurous flavour set in stunning green space”. What this means: – Striking a balance between elite sport and community/family facilities – Retaining the Regatta Lake and White Water course – Retaining the Centre’s attractive green space
