It's my great pleasure and honor to invite you to the ‘International Commemorative Symposium of 500 Stem Cell Transplantations in Chonnam National University Hospital’ which will be held on November 3, The theme of the Symposium is ‘Hematopoietic Stem cell Transplantation – Present & Future Perspectives’. The Chonnam National University Hospital has a history of almost 100 years. We recently opened a new hospital and regional National Cancer Center in Hwasun. This new hospital has become a new hub of medicine. Since the first case in 1991, 500 hematopoietic stem cell transplantations were performed which included various sources, such as bone marrow, peripheral blood and cord blood transplants, and autologous and allogeneic transplants in various kinds of malignant as well as hematologic diseases. This symposium will discuss a number of issues on the state-of-the-art management of stem cell transplantations and provide novel strategies of future directions.
