Should the use of stem cells in medicine be unrestricted? Volunteered at Heritage Hospital Sarah Silver Mentor: Jon Davis Advisor: J. Harris Teacher: N. Danehower

My Topic and Product I am very interested in biology and genetics. I plan to major in Biology in college. I wanted to learn more about the diseases that could be treated with stem cells in the future and help out in my community at the same time.

Should the use of stem cells be unrestricted in medicine? "Stem cells are the prerequisite for every cell in the human body" Gina Kolata states, “the field came to life in 1998 when scientists found very versatile cells in embryos that could turn into any cell in the body”

Research

Volunteering at Heritage Hospital Volunteering at Heritage Hospital gave me the opportunity to learn a lot about the types of diseases that can be treated with stem cells. I was able to talk to medical personnel about their opinions on stem cells treatments.

Product: Trifold

Self- Reflection I learned a lot about both genetics and stem cells through my research I learned time management I learned how to communicate better with others. This project will help me in the future because I made connections for future career pathways, and it improved my communication and office skills

Thank you for your time, are there any questions?
