Arts & Crafts From Kurpie Region in Christmas Time

Cut-outs Kurpie women have always been famous for their paper cut-outs (wycinanki) of animals, geometric designs, flowers, and so on.

"Leluja” is one of the most characteristic form of cut outs which is used only in the region of Kurpie. "Leluja” is tree of life inspired form of flower. "Leluja” is generally used for christmas tree.

New Years celebration Cookies (Byśki) were made in the shape of animals (called “bulls”) and other cookies were made in the form of a circle with a bird shown on it (called “years”). Together, these cookies were hung from the ceiling.
