Unit activities were graded as follows:  Discussion = 20 pts.  Seminar = 20 pts  Assignments = 30 pts

Units A and B Assignments were worth the following points:  Staff Memo= 10 pts.  Zimmerman Fax= 10 pts  Lecture Public = 20 pts

With your assignments being worth at least 30 pts each week, it would be beneficial for you to:  Review all steps in the document before you turn it in.  Ensure you name the file with the correct name.  Spell and grammar check before you turn it in.

 Let’s look at the Grading Criteria table below: ▪ Skill Acquisition/Skill Application = 510 points possible. ▪ Final Assessments = 210 points possible.

 Grading scale:  To pass the class: Check with your advisor, as there could be different requirements for each degree.  With 510 pts as weekly assignments, you can see that these exercises are very important.

 Quick question:  In this unit, you make changes to font type, color, size, and effects.  How do you change the font settings?  Home Ribbon  Mini-toolbar

 When you highlight text, a mini toolbar should display.  Toolbar contains basic options for changing text  No preview option is available, so you cannot “try before you buy.”

 F4 allows you to repeat the last action performed.  Not the same as Format Painter, as it does not “store” actions. F4

 Highlight the text, then click on the launcher arrow found in the Paragraph section.  You can add spacing before or after by clicking on the corresponding arrows, or typing the spacing in the field.

 Use the Change Case button in the Font group on the Home tab. ▪ Sentence case ▪ Sentence case capitalizes the first letter of a sentence ▪ Title Case ▪ Title Case capitalizes the first letter of each word ▪ tOGGLE cASE ▪ tOGGLE cASE switches all letters to the opposite case

 Question:  Name two ways to set Tabs in your document

 Question: What are your Unit 2 Assignments?

 First method to set tabs:  Click the arrow in the Paragraph section, and click the Tabs button.

Second method:  You can set a tab on the ruler, by clicking the Tab button.  There are four different tabs that can be set by toggling through the tab types.  What is toggling?

Question:  Do you set the indent on the ruler?  Or, do you click the launcher arrow in the bottom right on the corner of the Paragraph section?

 Another favorite tool in Word.  Question: How do you create a sub- bullet?

 Click so that your mouse cursor is at the beginning of the bullet  Click on the Increase Indent button, found in the Paragraph group on the Home Ribbon.  To move from a sub- bullet to a bullet, click the Decrease Indent button.

 Page 66 has you working on adding borders and shading to your file.  Question: Step 2 asks you to apply the Blue, Accent 1, 60% color. Where do you find this color?

 Click the Shading list arrow in the Paragraph section, found on the Home Tab.  On the Theme Colors dialogue box, place your mouse cursor on the blue colors, until you see the name of the corresponding color appear.

 After you complete the steps on page Word 68, how many footnotes will your document display?

 Three, as you delete one in the process.
