Should subjects be taught in English in elementary school (in addition to the native language)?

Should: Chance to approach English early Large English vocabulary resources from other subjects Good English reflex Ability to participate in international examinations Good way to prepare for the future

Shouldn’t: Be too young to study Increase the pressure for children Delay development of child's first language Disregard mother tongue Tend to mix up two languages when communicating Acquire unhealthy lifestyles

Shouldn’t (cont’d) Challenge for teachers in teaching Cost more money to buy book Trend to go abroad to study and work  Brain drain

Is spread of english a positive or dangerous thing? Discussion

A positive thing: 1.Learning higher: Access and update the knowledge sources from around the world in many fields. Assist you in dynamic social environment, confidence in communication and always wanted to explore the cultures of the countries in the world.

A positive thing: 2. International language Promoting international peace and understanding Communicating easier with people come from all countries

A positive thing: 3. Job Opportunities Requiring for the position consists the ability to speak English. Travelling much more countries by themselves to get experiences Improves the chance of getting a good job

Esperanto is an example of a language that was invented with these aim.

Shouldn’t we all learn a neutral language, like Esperanto? Scientists have already tried to create an artificial language that isn't too difficult and doesn't include any one group's culture. It is called Esperanto. But it hasn't become popular. But maybe the popularity of English won't last that long either. Who knows? There are more people in the world who speak Chinese than any other language. Maybe someday Chinese will be the new international language.

A dangerous thing: If one language is dominant, other languages may disappear. One’s culture has become popular around the world, so other cultures may be damaged. It would have no nationality or culture attached to it The dominance of the Esperanto language losing their identities
