Presentation transcript:

Almost as long as there has been life, war has been a part of it. Mankind continues to wage war even though the consequences often breed nothing but misery. However, when a person is called to defend his or her country, or protect other defenseless people, it is his duty to fight. There is no question that there is evil in the world and we must not rest on our laurels and say it is none of our business. We cannot stand by and watch while others are being persecuted. It is the duty of mankind to uphold justice.

War is an organized and often a prolonged struggle for domination or control that is carried out by states or non- state actors. It is generally characterized by extreme violence (including killing and torture), intense human suffering, social disruption and an attempt at economic destruction. War should be understood as an actual, intentional and widespread armed conflict between political communities, and therefore is defined as a form of (collective) political violence or intervention. The set of techniques used by a group to carry out war is known as warfare. An absence of war is usually called peace.

A soldier is a person who has enlisted with, or has been conscripted into, a country's armed forces (usually only the army or land forces). A soldier is one who fights as part of an organized land-based armed forces. A soldier can be enlisted, non-commissioned officer, or officer. And who can say better about the soldier than his family members.

Courage is the ability and willingness to confront fear, pain, danger, uncertainty, or intimidation.Physical courage is courage in the face of physical pain, hardship, death, or threat of death, while moral courage is the ability to act rightly in the face of popular opposition, shame or scandal. Each time we face our fears we become more of the courageous person that we would like to be.

Hope is an optimistic attitude of mind based on an expectation of positive outcomes related to events and circumstances in one's life or the world at large. Having hope propels us to achieve our dreams and drives us forward toward our pursuits. It also keeps us afloat when everything seems to go wrong, when we feel that we're drowning. Hope is the light at the end of the tunnel, the northern star by which we navigate our lives through trials and difficulties towards our dreams of a better day. When we lose hope, we are like a rudderless ship being tossed about without direction. Having and finding hope, then, is essential for keeping our dreams upright and continuing to sail in the direction of their attainment.
