ANGLE RELATIONSHIPS Mrs. Insalaca 8 th Grade Math

ANGLE A figure formed by two rays with a common endpoint

VERTEX The point where two rays meet to form an angle

RIGHT ANGLE An angle with measure equal to 90°

ACUTE ANGLE An angle with measure greater than 0° and less than 90°

OBTUSE ANGLE An angle with measure greater than 90° and less than 180°

STRAIGHT ANGLE An angle with measurement equal to exactly 180°

COMPLEMENTARY ANGLES Two angles whose measures add up to 90°

SUPPLEMENTARY ANGLES Two angles whose measures add up to 180°

ADJACENT ANGLES Two angles that share a vertex and one side, but no common interior points

CONGRUENT ANGLES Angles that have the exact same measure

VERTICAL ANGLES Nonadjacent angles formed by 2 intersecting lines Vertical angles are congruent!!

NAMING ANGLES Angles are named using 3 points. The point at the vertex is always in the middle of the name. C H A
